Hugggles my dear DHNettes and DHNers,

One of the last posts of the year..wawww, it feels strange! :)

I'm really happy to see the DHN are so alive, there's always someone around to share a few words with the others and that brings a lot to my daily life at the end**~~*^* *

I wish for 2005 that it goes on this way, maybe even better! Let's provoke each other, fight and love each other at the end, hehe... let's open ourselves and keep considering the DHN as a kind of lil oasis:)

Personnally I don't know much where I go in 2005... I want to have another baby while knowing financially it gonna be a very tough year (so far I received some money every month complementary to what I sold as a painter illustrator, but it will last 4 months again then nada)... So if I could start to sell really my prints and paintings, that would be great. If nothing happen in 2005 on that field, I'll have to reconsider my professionnal future (sigh)
So we'll see.

Professionnally, I know I'm not the only DHNer to expect a lot from 2005. It has to be *our* year!

Have the most wonderful New Year's Eve and new year's weekend**~~*^* *

Moleskin.

Lisa couldn’t keep her eyes off the notebook. It seemed to have that same velvet texture as her attackers thong. She buried her face in her hands, feeling the heat of her burning cheeks.

“And you never saw his face?” Detective Thornton said.

Lisa could only mumble a small: “No”

“And it was only as he left, when he spoke, that his voice alerted you to the fact it wasn’t your husband?

“Yes …”

Thornton looked around the room once again. The bedroom was a mess of discarded clothes, the evidence of carnality everywhere. He prepared his pencil for more notes.

“Didn’t this man …” he paused, it was Thornton’s turn now to be embarrassed, “didn’t this man, well, feel any … any ‘different’ to you, I mean from your husband?”

Lisa gave him a withering look. “Size isn’t everything - despite what you men might think - and anyway, I just thought he was very excited, and I was tipsy, and - well I told you I was blindfolded!” she said in exasperation, adding: “I was expecting my husband for God’s sake!”

“Quite” Thornton snapped the elastic band closed around his moleskin notebook as Lisa looked away with a shudder.

The End.

Good Monday morning dhn'ers! Just sneeking in as Candles has misplaced her voice. It is the run up to the 'Day' ... I bravely fought the crowds on Sunday to do some shopping. I needed a stiff drink after that. Shopping ... why do you women love it so? It has got to be the most stressful experience known to man. (but not women apparently) I am also sick to death of the Christmas songs on the radio, tv and in every bloody shop arrghhh

Closed up early on Saturday as, well, I had no customers, so what was the point? Before I left, my processor made a horrible graunching sound and began smelling of burning electrical insulation. Eeek! An inspection revealed nothing and it was working fine. So, it may be warning me of imminent death. If it does go bang, it will probably be uneconomic to repair, so that will be the end of the biz for sure. Lets hope it staggers on to do at least the Christmas and New Year rush. I have applied to be a double glazing salesman. They haven't offered me an interview yet, but this job might be a life-saver if I get it. Any job in a storm, even one like that.

Can I bore you with another short story?

'Wrench'

That was a wrench I never expected - and to experience such pain! But I did, and it was my wife's entire fault. She had become completely hysterical.

"Don't you do this to me you bastard!"

I was helpless as she attacked me with both fists, her beautiful features made almost unrecognisable through her fury - glaring inches from my closed eyes. Then she began to slap my face - so hard that my head was thrown from side to side as she let fly with unrestrained, full-blooded swings. She wasn't about to stop either - and, as I was in no position to prevent her blows, the others were forced to drag her away - still cursing, kicking and fighting.

I didn't want to do this to her. But I was remote, unconnected, a spectator watching from the corner of the room - yet I knew I couldn't let go. Only the nurse was now by my side, efficiently removing tubes and cables, flicking off switches. The poor girl nearly died from fright when I coughed, drew a searing breath and opened my eyes.

She practically few from the room as she shouted: "Doctor! Doctor! He's alive!"

Huggggles you sparkling DHNettes and DHNers!

I hope you've all trained for the Xmas songs, almost the D-day, huh!

I worried we'd be on the road for Xmas Eve, which wouldn't have been that fun. But Martin has managed to take his 23rd and 24th off!!!
(weeehoooooooooooooo!!!)
We'll spend Christmas in Bretagne with part of the family... then we start again on the 1st with the other part of the family, and again on the 8th with those on my papa's side, and and on the 15th with Martin's parents!
..and dat's all! phewwwww

(=diet for 6 months after that)

Since we'll spend 4 days in Bretagne, we hope to work hard on the hobbit's house. Not that we're very motivated with that awful weather... but it has to be done.
Now I just hope we'll get rid of our cold soon enough so that we can really work and enjoy Christmas too!

As for Xmas shopping, it's almost done (yeeepeeeeee)... I'll just have to find chocolates next week for the oldies ;-)

And what about ewwws, what are your plans?
You spend it with your family, friends?
How do you organise?

I hope we'll have some snow... it should be possible (crossing bits)!
And you Penny, still with heavy rains or has the sun accepted to join you?

Oh today, I was to forget, it's Ariel's birthday... a lil thought for Ariel then***~~*^* ***^* *

Lightly

The car became a symbol of his anger, his weapon of choice. She’d barely locked her seat belt into position when he viciously floored the accelerator. The car leapt forward, snapping her head back, its engine screaming his fury. She said nothing. Each gear was rammed home like a punch aimed at her face, the rev-counter diving into the red as the speed built up.

“Slow down Tom, you’re acting like an idiot,” she said, her voice straining to remain calm, tempered by fear but leavened with contempt.

A sneer disfiguring his face, Tom responded by flooring the pedal, forcing an extra growl from the engine. Headlights lanced out into a winter blizzard flying at the windscreen -then the steering went light. The torrent of snow seemed to twist direction as the car pirouetted.

Screams mingled briefly with the sounds of tearing metal, punctuated by the gunshot reports of heavy impacts and shattering glass - followed by sudden silence.

Alongside her in the snow, unable to speak or breathe, Tom watched a snowflake land lightly upon his wife’s cheek and melt into a tear.

No condensation escaped her parted lips – more than a simple argument had been lost

Gettin' splinters in my bumm....

....from sittin' on the fence so often! heheh

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government
control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on
the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention
and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.
Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind,
tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what
they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

I can't tell if the pic uploaded - but it doesn't matter if it didn't, it's just a pretty red dot in the middle of the arena :-)

The result doesn't surprise me at all....the middle ground is where I sit on virtually everything in life - until I need to throw on my Warrior suit of armour to make a stand anyhooo ;-)

Me too, I am liberal...
Interesting enough, it seems to come from being personally very open and economically somewhat more strict:

It's been a while since I did one of these short flash stories ... just done this one today.

Rigging

Suzette held onto the frayed rope and let her mind wander. The ship was old and crumbling, yet the mast stood erect - thrusting proudly upwards toward the glare of the Sun.

She was caught in the rigging - entrapped in the history of past glories forever lost.

The ship was now at rest, its many journeys over, the last passengers long gone. Abandoned to nature she was still beautiful and elegant in death. Suzette wrapped one arm around the old wood of the main mast, sensing minute vibrations tingle through her as the hull, far below, whispered its dark secrets to her.

Letting go, she allowed herself to fall - down into the blue - spiraling, flying through broken lanyards, free as a bird on the wing. The deck came towards her and she turned, looking back up, entranced by the dancing shafts of sunlight filtering through the azure sea of the most beautiful graveyard she had ever seen.

But her scuba tanks were almost empty, and the surface demanded her return.

I am almost completly far left! Power to the People!

Interestingly, (and thankfully) the 'lowest' scores from everyone else is the far right! pheeew

LIBERAL

LIBERALS usually embrace freedom of choice in personal

matters, but tend to support significant government control of the

economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net"

defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action

But not really either on the right side!

The last post being already 6 days old...
and MY last about 6 month old, I thought I'd just drop in with a new ....right:
QUIZ!
This time a more serious one than the "what-colour-is-you-panty-quizzie" (though I luuuuv those):

World's Smallest Political Quiz
The ORIGINAL Internet Political Quiz

Take the Quiz now and find out where you fit on the political map!

Backdraw is, there is no textfield with the code to copy-paste the result into the blog (uh-oh...). You must right-click the political map with your position on the result page, chose "save image as...", save it to your hard disk and upload it with your post. But then, you're all old blogger veterans and have posted billi-zilli-trillions of pics along with your blogs, so this should be no probbie! :-)
I was quite astonished of my result, but then, maybe it is not so false....
