Have you any idea what:

means?

haha!
Well, this was the first bloggie posted by our blog guru -Penny-!
I've looked at the archives and that's the oldest post I get.

And the date of it was 24th of January 2002. Well we've just missed it but would you agree to make of this date our DHN anniversary?
Now we'd get a full year to find appropriate champ' to celebrate it !!!!

While our government has welcome again the Chinese President, without forgetting to insist that the Human rights had to be respected (words easy to say, specially once you've signed juicy contracts)... I wondered what was the best to do with totalitarian countries.
Refusing working with dem till Human Rights are respected... or keeping working with them as with every country (which means welcoming the political leaders, etc etc)?

I rilly have no precise idea. On one hand, you don't want to support anything that goes against your convictions, on the other hand if you make the biz blocus of a country, you *noooooooooooe* finally it's the people there who will suffer of it.
Hmmm.
Maybe any profit made thanks to such a contract should be divided in 2 and half should go to associations of defense of human rights there, or to schools there?
That also sounds like a way to "buy" a peaceful conscious...!

Pathetic! Apparently, soup has sold out as the Brits run scared of a bit of snow that MIGHT just last untill the weekend!
Also silly is the instigation by the French Gov. to get the EU commission to spend £14 million teaching its staff French, fearing the language may be sidelined with the extension of the community. as 83% spoke English, and only 24% French.
Check out a new lady singer if you can. Teenage jazz singer Katie Melua has something...
As I follow the French decision to ban head scarves, (well done) a teacher here has been in court accused of 'Religious Assault', because she removed a girls scarfe and 'insulted' Islam.
The girl suffered a scratch and reported her to police... pathetic. In Saudi arabia, Christianity can only be practised in a forign nationals embassy. You will be deported if cought holding a Bible. Wearing a crucifix is punishable by jail. No non muslims are even allowed near the city of Mecca. Listen carefully, do you hear any protests? I wonder what would happen if the Vatican imposed such measures?
Religious orthodoxy, in all its forms, is basically a mental disease. Organised Religions, on the whole, are subvertive of the human condition. On balance, they have produced far more misery and death than any other human endevour. Yet the practitioners remain smug in thier selfrightiousness, manipulating the undecided in politicaly biased correctness.
Long live Father Ted!

I invite you into my flat
After a late night at the office.
In the kitchen, as I make the coffee,
Strong and bitter,
I plan how I will approach you.
Soft lights and moody music
Will set the scene
For the pleasure I am anticipating.

I set down the coffee
And slide into the bedroom
To slip into "something more comfortable."
You are waiting silently, patiently
Until I am ready to make my move.
I reach out my hand to you
And give myself permission to begin.

My tongue peeps out from
Between my lips in concentration.
Slowly, I start to undo your layers.
You do not protest, this is your destiny.
I slip you between my teeth
And feel sinful bliss
As I gently bite your
Creamy chocolate coating
And soft caramel centre.

Writen by one of my writer friends on the chocolate thread, thought you would 'enjoy' it!

Happy Monday you lot!
Bogg all to report... so have some chocolate..

Why women think chocolate is better than sex...

They can always get chocolate.

'If you love me you'll swallow it' really means something with chocolate.

Even soft chocolate satisfies.

They can have chocolate safely while driving.

They can make chocolate last as long as they want it to.

They can have chocolate in front of their mothers.

If they bite the nuts hard the chocolate won't mind.

Two people of the same sex can have chocolate without being called names.

The word 'Commitment' doesn't scare off chocolate.

You can have chocolate on your desk at work without your workmates being alarmed.

You can ask a stranger for chocolate without getting slapped.

You can have chocolate at any time of the month.

With chocolate you don't have to fake it.

You don't get hairs in your mouth with chocolate.

Good chocolate is easy to find.

You can have as many kinds of chocolate as you can take.

You are always the right age for chocolate.

When you have chocolate it doesn't keep the neighbours awake.

With chocolate, size doesn't matter, it's always good.

You don't have to beg to get chocolate.

Chocolate doesn't keep you awake yapping after you've had it.

You can have chocolate all weekend and still walk okay on monday morning.

It's easy to find nine inches of chocolate.

Chocolate doesn't fart while you're eating it.

You can have chocolate on your own and people don't think that you are sad.

Chocolate doesn't snore.

Chocolate does not leave it's smelly socks on the bedroom floor.

Chocolate does not say "I need some space"

Chocolate does not criticise your new jumper.

Chocolate does not hog the computer when you are bursting with and idea that has to be typed NOW!

Chocolate does not give ultimatums.

Maybe you wonder why there is now a white zone under the title when the DHN are opening...
I thought it would be a good idea if the section where the names show up of the DHNers who are present in the chat reloaded every minute. So when the page is open and someone has entered the chat, his name suddenly appears, without having to refresh the blog page.

Hope you like the idea :-)

last night I happened to (really) come across (oo err) this documentary about this lesbian night club. Well, I just had to watch...
The thing that really struck me about the ladies shown, was just how much FUN they were all having! The theatre show was kind interactive... but the girls, and they were pretty girls, were all giggling and laughing like mad. They were all having a ball. I think it points out the different approach to sex that men and women tend to have. In male strip joints, it tends to be serious. In this lesbian show, it was just FUN! They were wild too. trying out electro static stimulators on each others skin, and errm, bits. And the show...well, one girl dressing as a male cop, is seduced by a half naked girl wearing a very realistic strap on dildo. As she takes out the 'cops' dildo and gives her/him head, another girl goes between the legs of the 'cop' to give the other girl 'head' on her dildo.

Hello fellow bloggers :-)

Now, I wasn't lost in cyberspace. If anything, I would have been lost in real life...

Those have been busy holidays, with my American friends at home. Now they've flown away, and when I'm not catching up on my backlog, I'm moaning about living a third of the world away from them... One should always been able to vistit their friends at leisure.

I also have lost my second grandfather, and was not able to attend his burial because of work-related obligations. This is the third grandparent I have lost in as many years, and we were really close. I have not yet got over that.

So life goes on. Let's see if I can chech which mythical figure I am... give you news in a few.

How are you all doing on this (looking at the gloomy weather behind the window) new week?!!!
Have we lost Alain in cyberspace somewhere? If dat's the case, we'll put our big shoes on and go to rescue him!

Bloody week. Well not that awful because I'm going to sign my contract... but using much vaseline, you see. (dat's what authors had told me: "be ready to use vaseline with editors" lol).
So now I am sure I'll turn richer selling my paintings rather than spending my last coins buying vaseline. What do you think?! ;-)

Does any of eww has some big plan in the week to share with us?
Mine is to work on this competion organised by the french post: drawing the next French stamp (!!!), with la Marianne and the theme of environment.
I thought I'd find no time for it, but it's in black and white and quite small. I should be able to participate :)

Ok, I was to post this bloggie on my blogplanet but I don't wanna too many people to read about it.
Just ewwws actually!

I've just received my publishing contract (is it how you call it?), my "contrat d'édition"!!!!

I'm so happy all this comes REAL.
I can't wait to get the *book* in my hands!!!!

Now, as all can't be so purrrfect, I have read the contract... and gawd, maybe I'll be famous one day, but not rich.
If I wanna earn what I get enough to live with no excess at all for one month... then I must wait till we sell 100 000 copies!!!!!
...which means never.

So I'm a bit divided right now between the huge pleasure of being published and the awful feeling of getting nothing
at all, or almost nothing, in exchange of real long work.

*digging deep into the archives of Mummydom*

I think I'll start with the not like sleeping in the dark thingy (it's the easiest hehe).

I dunno the reasons why all of a sudden the Shrimpette no longer wants to sleep in the dark. She could feel scared because she has had a nightmare and woken up with a fright in the dark or she could simply connect the switching off of the light and darkness to a separation from ewes. Either way the solution is the same, she needs to feel safe and that ewe are close (even if not in the same room) when she is put to bed. I can't see any probbie at all with leaving some kind of soft light on for her - I did it for all my babes and they eventually grew out of needing it.

For the screaming and throwing herself against the wall thingy, lemme first explain that for babes up to the age of about 2, there is only one universe - THEIRS. It really is a very traumatic time for liddle ones at the age that the Shrimpette is because she is just begining to learn now that the world is not really her oyster. And so in an effort to hold on to her "world" as she has known it, she will desperatly use every tactic she can.

She doesn't yet understand the difference between good or bad behaviour and so she can't comprehend the meaning of "the consequences" of being nawdy. She only knows that "any" kind of behaviour will cause a reaction. To her it doesn't matter how she gets the attention of those around her...as long as she gets it she will be happy - because it brings the focus back to her world.

Soooo.....when ewe tell her to stop doing something, no matter what it is, she's thinking "yayyyy!! It worked....when I do *this*....mama does *that* - I am truly the ruler of my universe!!" (hehehe)

And if ewe ignore her...well, ewe can guess 'zackly what that's gonna do huh? Her plan isn't working so she must try "harder" to do something that will get your attention. Anyhooo, I don't know of one single instance in life where ignoring "it" has ever made things bedder :-) .

I found the best way to deal with the liddle (and not so liddle!) temper tantrums was to give the babe what it really wants - attention...before muuuds got outta hand. But not give into what it is asking for (eg. the thing I didn't want it to have). Sooo whenever I felt a tanty brewing I would quickly take the thingy off the babe and even quicker find something as equally as amazing for my babe to have instead - usually from another room, 'cause babes are quite often "outta sight outta mind" and if you are quick enough many full blown tantrums can be averted this way :-)

The experts say that "removal" is best form of discipline for babes so young because it gives them what they really want (your attention) while not rewarding a "nawdy" behaviour by giving them what it is they ask for.

Anyhooo....that's about it....it doesn't really matter what ya do - it's gonna be tiring (sowwy to say) but it will get better and a liddle easier once she is able to learn the difference between nawdy and good behaviour. Ummm...OK I lied...it doesn't ever get any easier - ewe just have more control as they get older :-) *^**^*^*^***

s.o.s
s.o.s
advice required!

Ok, Lola is not a teen yet... so I don't have REAL parents' probbies.... but there's a lil something that bothers me since a few days now. Maybe you can give me some piece of advice.
Lola finds it very funny to scream very loudly now. Before she did it for fun, now she still does it for fun but also whenever I tell her to stop doing something or to not take this or that.
Whenever something goes against what she wanna, she screams. and does not stop!
It lasts long minutes and if I tell her to stop this, she seems more determined to go on with it! If I try to go on as if I had not noticed her, she starts to throw anything she can around. Or she knocks herself against the floor or the wall!

The mamas who have a child the age of Lola get the same probbie and it's a bit tiring. Any idea about what I could do?

Oh and what can I do if Lola cannot stand to sleep when it's dark (which is happening since 3 days now). You can be sure that whenever the light is off, she explodes with cries. We've not resisted so far, we've let her some light! LOL, we are not masochist, we wanna sleep a bit! ;-)

Ok, I'm sure you'll help me to tame the lil devilish shrimpette :P

Monday wet morning to you all. Structural damaging winds and torrential rain is forecast for this afternoon - so it’s not going to improve very much I think! My cold is still in residence. P1 came back from a four-day visit to a friend. Tried to make conversations as to if she had a good time, what did she do etc? “Yeah, it was ok, didn’t do much.” Back to watching the tv. Showed her the newspaper article I had published, she glanced at it and then dropped it on the floor unread and without comment. Said she will read it later. Something better was on the TV. Later asked her what she thought. “Yeah, it was ok” Don’t think she read it. sigh.

Asked P2 how P1 was these days. P2 seems to think she doesn’t have to many friends at the moment, but is fine now. She dropped her friends when she had the now ex-boyfriend, and now finds that they have gone separate ways. She just will not talk with us, and I find very frustrating, leaving us to just hope she comes through it all right in the end. At times she is very happy and at others sulky and silent. Mrs Jack admitted she went through a period of hating her parents at that age as well, so maybe its all just growing up time. P2 is wearing alarmingly low cut shirts these days… of course, we point out gently as poss. that maybe she should be more aware of her appearance. To no effect. Boys would have been much easier I am sure!

Got myself a snazzy moleskin black jacket in the sales yesterday – even the girls said it was “ok… I suppose…” High praise indeed and a change from the usual pulled faces and gagging sounds!

It is so mild I can’t believe the days are getting lighter every day and spring is not far away! I think we have had only a couple of frosty mornings so far. What happened to winter? Very odd. Okies, catch you around you lot one day!

Oh, I have just read that lust is good for you and shouldn’t be associated with guilt.

The important thing to remember is that generally anything that gives us pleasure has a presumption to its favour - the question is how we control it. Slothfulness should be a virtue, as we need to wind down from modern day pressures. Gluttony should also be removed from the list of sins - as we should be more relaxed about what we eat, too.

Any more sins we should remove?

The first image that came to me when thinking of both Peace and Chaos was that of a new born babe :-)

Holding a new born babe in our arms and looking into it's eyes, we are able to see the very foundation of human innocence. There is something so pure there, something so apparantly "peaceful" in the eyes looking back at us. This little "being" knows nothing of wars or racial and religious intolerence. It hasn't learnt how to love or hate yet.

At the same time, it also represents a new "chaos" in the world. The world of it's parents. Another mouth to be fed. Another body to clothe and provide safety and comfort for. Another human being to consider, respect, care for and love. Chaos can be such a wondrous thing sometimes :-)

Jennny’s pic is cool, and strangely last night I was watching the beebs superb documentary Big Cats, transmitted daily this week from the Masai Mara. Filming Lions, Leopards and Cheetahs doing their thing. One of the presenters is a scrumptious lady driving a Land Rover, not the blonde usual presenter, more the female Indian Jones. Yummm…
I fell over laughing at one scene where they had been following this Cheetah, who then languidly jumped upon one of the Land Rovers, and climbed onto the roof. The roof had two large sunroofs, and the guy inside was totally unafraid as the cat simply ignored him, before slowly squatting and having a crap through the roof directly onto him. from M'Zelle Jenny
10:33 PM

The more the world seems on its way toward complete chaos, the more we can hear the word "Peace" echoing here and there. I have heard it a lot lately, said by very different people.
I personnally prefer the word "Harmony", but that's about the same. The more you hear it, the better you feel ;-)

Maybe it's getting urgent that we give more attention to "Peace". That we stop keeping it warmly in our drawer of utopia.
Anyway, being at peace with oneself would solve a lot of probbies, no? We could try starting with that then :P

By the way, what image, what picture would really represent Peace for you, and what would you chose for Chaos?
I'm curious, and...tadaaaaaaa!.... I wait for your posts to discover these Peace and Chaos *representations*!!!
